Past to Present

It is a profound honor to work with such a talented group of colleagues and friends, with whom we share over 75 years of cumulative experience.

Stewardship of Place

1990 – Eisele Vineyard

We remain unwavering in our conviction that great wine begins with exceptional terroir, and that integrity in winemaking lies in allowing the wine to emerge naturally from thoughtful farming. When we purchased Eisele Vineyard in Calistoga in 1990 and founded Araujo Estate Wines, we began a long journey of learning what true stewardship and humility toward the land require.

Honoring Napa Valley

2013 – Accendo Cellars

Napa Valley is a truly remarkable community, rich with vineyard stories. In 2013, after entrusting Eisele Vineyard to new caretakers, we founded Accendo Cellars as a family, expanding our philosophy to include a carefully curated selection of Napa Valley’s Grand Cru sites. Inspired by the great Napa blends of decades past, Accendo allowed us to craft layered, expressive wines that revealed the soul of the region.

Cultivating Community

2014 – Wheeler Farms

Wheeler Farms was a true joy and a natural extension of all that we love in the winegrowing community. Creating a shared space to bring winemakers, viticulturists, and farmers together in the spirit of learning and partnership guided our work.

Our Fourth Chapter

2025 – Rancho Pequeño

Rancho Pequeno is a deeply personal journey to realize and unveil the potential of our home vineyard.  We have gathered a team with whom we share more than 75 years of collective experience and a deep sense of trust and shared vision: viticulturist Steve Matthiasson; Silverado Farming’s Pete Richmond and Miguel Luna; and winemakers Françoise Peschon and Maayan Koschitzky.

A Common Purpose

As our “Fourth Chapter,” Rancho Pequeño is a continuation of our commitment to produce exceptional, site-specific wine that couldn’t be possible without the stewardship, sustainability, and deep-rooted community of talented friends and colleagues we hold so dear.
